Latest winter storm finally buries Garbin Moraine

After several storms of the century this season GM is buried.  We really got buried by the last storm but it was not one of the storms of century.  Talking about the storm of the century must be getting old so now it just snows and snows.

The snow on the trees used to be pretty.

This Spring is going to be muddy. The fishing opener will mean ice fishing again this year (thanks to AGW - we know that is getting old but it never hurts  to spread the truth to the masses )

Valentine's Day rose was good choice

Mrs. TWW's Valentine's Day rose is still around and not looking too bad. The lesson here is if you buy more than one rose they die off quicker.

Global warming causes dishwasher to stop working

For some reason the dishwasher started flashing green lights on Saturday night and stopped working. AGW is the only logical explanation since the area has been blanketed with snow caused by the polar vortex being sent south by greenhouse gases. Fortunately there are web sites to help fix these outbursts of bad things so by going there TWW learned what to do to fix the problem for now.

A locked safe in a kid's room? Horror of horrors.  Why not just leave the evil weapons in the parent's bedroom under the mattress where the kids would never find them? Or better yet make it illegal for parents to have any guns in the house in the first place.

Tip of the day for beginning freeloaders

Rule #1: If you marry or shack up with a significant other be sure to find one who has relatives who bring lots of good stuff when they come to visit. 

Rule #2: Always buy good beer when the guests show up and if you have good guests visiting they will drink brandy.

Space alien burial interrupted

It appears the last blizzard interrupted a space alien burial ceremony. Why they would want to bury a commrade in our back yard is not knowable.  The coffin is just sitting there unburied in the snow.  You might remember Wisconsin has had many UFO sightings in the past years since there are looser drunken driving laws and many of the sightings were after the bars closed.

He was a well-known face in the movement for the SAFE Act, the state law that made carrying a gun on school property a felony. He was also a familiar presence in the hallways of the city’s Harvey Austin Elementary School, where he worked in the after-school program and mentored students.

No one imagined that on Thursday he would show up at the school in possession of a gun, touching off an hours-long lockdown, search and ultimately his arrest on two felony charges.

Ferguson, 52, told WGRZ-TV that he frequently carries the gun, for which he has a permit, and did not realize he had it on him when he went to the school as part of the mentoring program.

Those who have worked with him also said they believe it was an honest mistake."

Some good people down at the University of Alabama were nice enough to create a computer map of where the family cabin is. Look for the dark blue area on the upper left part of the map.  The color means it is the coldest place in the world compared to what is 'normal'.

Snowshoeing to help save Bambi - volunteers wanted

The Garbin Moraine Foundation is looking for volunteers to help pack down the snow so the orphans like Bambi can move around this winter. Right now the snow is up to their navels and may get deeper.
