HOW TO ORDER A BOWL
The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Fair and balanced once again

Read the article above. It sounds somewhat objective but then look at the pictures at the bottom which talk about vigilantes. The good guy was a vigilante? TWW wonders if the female victim in the story wanted 'gun control' to take the gun away from the vigilante who may have saved her life.
TWW's question for people with liberal values: If you are about to become a crime victim would you want one of those people legally carrying a weapon to help you out (even if they are not legally required to do so) or should they just call 911 and go about their business? But if they do help you out will you still want to take their guns away?
Hopefully spring will come soon so TWW can find other topics to blab about.

When will this guy realize only white-privileged liberal people can talk about this topic?

The code of silence rules so ban the tools of the trade
"It’s getting easier to get away with shooting people in Chicago.
Last year, gunmen who shot and wounded someone got away without criminal charges 94 percent of the time, according to a DNAinfo.com Chicago analysis of police data.
That’s even worse than 2011, when 91.5 percent of shooters escaped charges, according to the data.
Chicago’s top cop said the “no-snitch” code of silence on the street is the biggest contributor in his department’s struggle to charge shooters."

The key here is liberals are fine with other people paying taxes.

misquote of the day
“Scissors? That’s their answer?” LaPierre asked. “Let’s get this straight: To protect our children at school, we recommend a trained professional with a gun, and they recommend scissors? And they say we’re crazy? It’s sheer madness.”

So who is morally superior?
The antiabortion people have their morality on their side and TWW bets most of them think they are morally superior to the other side but the same seems to apply to another situation too but this time it is liberal moral superiority.
"Gun control efforts are largely a culture-war offensive by liberals who dislike the parts of America that own guns and love guns. This meddling motivation shines through in the rhetoric of gun control advocates and in the laws they push.

For many gun owners, the firearm is not merely a tool for the practical purpose of self-defense. Nor is it simply recreational equipment, like a golf club. It's a cultural signifier, and a totem of a worldview."

Hunting to people with liberal values - quote of the day
"We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines." - Diane Feinstein

So BO's people came up with the evil BO is trying to protect us against?
In portraying the sequester as a Republican idea during a Presidential debate last year, President Obama misspoke. Woodward’s reporting makes clear that the idea originated from the White House’s budget negotiators, Jacob Lew (now the Treasury Secretary) and Rob Nabors. Desperate to avoid a failure to extend the debt ceiling, which could have led to a U.S. debt default, they designed the sequester as a “poison pill” that would kick the dispute down the road while providing an incentive for both sides to compromise.

Media BS or OBS (you figure out what that means)
"Woodward — first in “The Price of Politics,” his best-seller on the failed quest for a grand budget bargain, and later with his opinion piece in the Post — makes plain that sequestration was an idea crafted by the White House. Obama personally approved the plan and later signed it into law. Woodward was right, several congressional officials involved in the talks told us."

Now when our Fearless Leader talks about saving us from sequestration you know who was part of creating the situation in the first place.

Birkie results
The first six finishers in the big cross country ski race yesterday were women. The men were about 5 blocks behind. The announcers on the local community/communist radio station were in awe at the thought of seeing so many women be the first to finish. But then one of the announcers said these women got about an 8-0 minute head start since the Birkie starts with waves (groups) every ten minutes so the overall winner might be a man. So even though the men had lower times to the finish line the women still won. Affirmative action at its finest:)
Crackpot letter to the editor time again
Editor:
It's time to apply science to the shortage of snow some years for the Birkie. At least 90% of the experts in the field think Coincidental Counter-Examples (CCEs) are worth further study. Also, called the Al Gore Effect, a CCE is the apparent causal relationship between unseasonable cold weather phenomena and people holding events about climate change. The most recent example is the appearance of Bill McKibben, a leader in climate change movement, giving a talk at the Park Theater right before the Birkie followed by six inches of snow. The moral here is we need to invite more climate change media stars to visit the area to ensure enough snow. As a last resort we can organize climate change protests at highways 63 and 27 to protest all the unnecessary fossil fuels burned getting all the skiers to the Birkie. Snow would almost surely follow.

Public service announcement
Continuing with its tradition of public service the Garbin Morain Foundation has donated a second growler to King Tut's Bar. This way when guests want to bring the best of the local brews to share at King Tut's Bar there are now two growlers to borrow and get filled at the Angry Minnow (see link here) only a short 15 mile drive away in Hayward.

Soup kitchen opens at 12:30 today
In the meantime here is the quote of the day:
From Christopher Dorner’s manifesto:
This may say something about the minds of the people who project all their inner stuff unto firearms (either pro or con).Anti-NRA:Wayne LaPierre, President of the NRA, you’re a vile and inhumane piece of shit. You never even showed 30 seconds of empathy for the children, teachers, and families of Sandy Hook.

Extreme right-wingers are right: sometimes paranoia is just good thinikng
“The condition that an operational leader present an ‘imminent’ threat of violent attack against the United States does not require the United States to have clear evidence that a specific attack on U.S. persons and interests will take place in the immediate future,” the memo states.
Instead, it says, an “informed, high-level” official of the U.S. government may determine that the targeted American has been “recently” involved in “activities” posing a threat of a violent attack and “there is no evidence suggesting that he has renounced or abandoned such activities.” The memo does not define “recently” or “activities.”
