Tonight, CBS aired a 60 Minutes interview with President Obama. But curiously enough, the news magazine show did not air a clip of Obama admitting to interviewer Steve Kroft that some of his campaign ads contain mistakes and that some even "go overboard."

HOW TO ORDER A BOWL
The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

A bane for people with liberal values?
Since it is an election campaign we hear over and over about all the jobs Romney and the evil corporations have outsourced overseas. Have you ever wondered why all the liberals (or almost all) buy foreign cars which also has caused many American jobs to go overseas to foreign car makers? That number must swamp what Romney ever did.
Full disclosure: TWW bought American.

Friday Day 3 in Duluth
On Friday the camera ran out of gas so no pictures available of ships going by. One of these was a real big one. See:

Before he left TWW finally found a hat for a business he would advertise on his head. The company on his current hat is out of business.
Thursday - Duluth Day 2
Part of the 47% who expect a handout.
Brew pub will be open by the time TWW and Mrs TWW go back in November.

Another day another poll
Obama’s Foreign Policy Approval Rating Drops After Mideast Turmoil

Editorial statement: have you ever seen a poll where people got to say what they thought of polls?
The bond bomb
"Jin Baisong from the Chinese Academy of International Trade – a branch of the commerce ministry – said China should use its power as Japan’s biggest creditor with $230bn (£141bn) of bonds to “impose sanctions on Japan in the most effective manner” and bring Tokyo’s festering fiscal crisis to a head."

Just wait until they aim at the US. Then we can really thank the people who ran up the national debt in the last few years -- no wait we can just tax the rich people more and all will be well.

More bovine scatology from the media?
"Many in the Romney high command watched in fury. Later, a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found that for many voters — especially independents and casual viewers, exactly the ones convention organizers hoped to reach — the Eastwood skit, not Romney’s speech, was the highlight of the convention."

The quote above was about Romney's internal campaign problems. Now if you think about the Democrat convention who was the most memorable speaker(s):
a)Barack Obama
b)Michelle Obama
c)Bill Clinton
Clinton for sure and maybe Michelle. Does giving a memorable convention speech really matter unless you are trying to get your wife elected in 2016?
The real memorable speeches will come when Israel hits Iran and Iran sinks a supertanker in the Golf of Hormuz and oil prices go up to the clouds. Then will it all be about the economy or foreign policy?

Agenda for a second term
What the politicians did for health care (everybody has a right to health insurance) they can now do when R & R go down in flames in November.
"The study also found that one in four households, or 28.3 percent, either had one or no bank account. A third of these households said they do not have enough money to open and fund an account. Minorities, the unemployed, young people and lower-income households are least likely to have accounts."
Everybody has a right to a bank account and those with bank accounts already should not mind paying a little more on their interest rates and bank fees to help those less fortunate.

Clint got it wrong
“A lot of people are realizing they had the wool pulled over their eyes by Obama,” Eastwood said.
source: http://www.pineconearchive.com/120907-1.html
Clint got it wrong. It was the reporters who looked the other way about how an affirmative action pick would have some weaknesses when put into a job he was not qualified for because of belonging to a protected class. Try comparing the treatment BO got to Clarence Thomas and Sarah Palin who were chosen because of being in a protected class for hiring. The media vetted them well.

Bipartisanship??
" But we don't think that government is the source of all our problems- any more than are welfare recipients, or corporations, or unions, or immigrants, or gays, or any other group we're told to blame for our troubles."
That was from the speech last night. Since when weren't the evil corporations the source of most of our ills?? Well since he did not mention the 1% maybe we can still blame then. If you want more information on the 1% see the post below about guillotines being the solution like the enlightened Europeans used.

It rained last night: question of the day
It rained last night at Garbin Moraine and helped end the drought up here. By chance did President BO promise to end the drought in his speech last night? TWW out of fairness did not watch since he only watched the empty chair speech at the the (if Clint can stutter so can TWW) other side's convention not and the 'Mir' and 'Purr' show.

Racist, sexist, multi-phobe quote of the day?
"One should always be prepared for this question.
So, if someone asks you what the main difference is between most
of the Obama supporters, and Romney supporters, instead of
stammering, and stuttering, and looking for an answer, just tell them
that the Romney supporters sign their checks on the front, and the
Obama supporters sign their checks on the back. "

MAMA's empty chair
TWW Supports Empty Chair Day
Here is a thought experiment for you. If you have even visited Garbin Moraine you will remember you are greeted by the privy as you park. This privy is a community service to relieve the pressure of the long trip into the middle of nowhere. Picture the privy with the door open (and no occupants of course). This is TWW's second contribution to National Empty Chair Day.

New Life Form Discovered near Douglas
Practice exercise in case of alien invasion
Take note aliens: Garbin Moraine will not stand still by and allow you to take away our country. GM held its second Labor Day Alien Eradication Practice Event this weekend. Below are some action photos. Please note the identities of members of the Garden Moraine Militia were withheld for security reasons. The photos don't show it since TWW and his camera could not catch any of the UFOs being shot down but rest assured many of them were. Next year the GM Militia will practice shooting down drones.
