HOW TO ORDER A BOWL
The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

This sucks day 6 - scientific fraud?

The 'team' is short for the hockey team (remember the hockey stick?) and their temperature work that claims global warming is all caused by CO2. Part of the post is below. Your tax dollars are funding this research just like BIG OIL pays for the people who are skeptics.
"Just when you think the bottom of the Hockey Stick rabbit hole has been reached, Steve McIntyre finds yet more evidence of misconduct by the Team.

"Just when you think the bottom of the Hockey Stick rabbit hole has been reached, Steve McIntyre finds yet more evidence of misconduct by the Team.
The research was from Briffa and Osborn (1999) published in Science magazine and purported to show the consistency of the reconstruction of past climate using tree rings with other reconstructions including the Mann Hockey Stick. But the trick was exposed in the Climategate dossier, which also included code segments and datasets.
In the next picture, Steve shows what Briffa and Osborn did – not only did they truncate their reconstruction to hide a steep decline in the late 20th Century but also a substantial early segment from 1402-1550:

This sucks - day 1 - part 1
This may be the last post or one of the last posts for a while. Due to worsening conditions we are stockpiling water and have moved the generator into the garage for emergency use (but sorry we cannot operate the computer with it to update this blog).

Another crackpot letter to the editor in the making
Editor:
The slogan "no taxation without representation" needs revamping for the 21st century. We live in a state with an extremist governor unwilling to raise taxes so public employees can receive their just compensation. Fair disclosure makes me say before retiring and moving here I used to work in the public sector in Minnesota. But first, back in Minnesota we lived on homesteaded property since in Minnestoa there is a law giving your primary residence a tax break. And second when I came up to hunt or fish it meant a nonresident license.
While we cannot to cut property taxes there is a way to solve part of the current mess in Madison by combining the two concepts above. We need a Property Owner's License (POL) where people need a license to own property and nonresidents pay nonresident fees and homesteaded propety owners pay $0.00 (at least initially). The POL fee would just need to be another line on a person's property. It is a license fee not a tax.
Just like in Minnesota the nonresident concept needs to expand to include the rich Wisconsin people who own lake castles up north in addition to homesteaded primary residences in the city.
This idea also cures the 'tax bird' problem where rich people pretend to live in other states with no income tax but spend as much of the year up here as possible and only leave in the winter when nobody wants to be here anyway.

Now they are blaming Hillary for the inaction
Read the earlier post (blames affirmative action) about Hillary losing faith in her boss then read the text below the the paper of record and see reality changing before your very eyes.
"Only the day before, Mrs. Clinton — along with her boss, President Obama— was a skeptic on whether the United States should take military action in Libya. But that night, with Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s forces turning back the rebellion that threatened his rule, Mrs. Clinton changed course"

Obama's indecision on Libya has pushed Clinton over the edge
BY JOSHUA HERSH THURSDAY, MARCH 17, 2011
Fed up with a president “who can’t make his mind up” as Libyan rebels are on the brink of defeat, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is looking to the exits....
“Obviously, she’s not happy with dealing with a president who can’t decide if today is Tuesday or Wednesday, who can’t make his mind up,” a Clinton insider told The Daily. "

Remember Hillary's ad during the last campaign ??
They are coming after your pocketbook?
Most interesting cheesehead quote of the day: "Walker countered districts will see relief from state mandates, changes in health insurance options and a likely increase in teacher retirements to achieve more savings." from http://www.wispolitics.com/index.iml?Article=230340
More getting rid of the old farts to save money? Next what will they do with the old farts in the nursing homes :) ?
Life enrichment distraction
This blog has not been attended to lately since TWW was trying to get out of the embarrassing situation where he created something using the "anything worth doing is worth doing badly" principle.
See: www.fnbwa.info (the old site) and compare to the new one still in the works: https://sites.google.com/site/fnbwaver2/
TWW promises to put the work on the web second site on hold and come back to serving his 4.5 loyal viewers (the change from 3.5 is HFEC now has two imaginary playmates who also comment on this blog at times and they count as .5 viewers each)

Wisconsin's Governor Wins, but Is He Now Dead Man Walker?
By DAWN REISS / MADISON Saturday, Mar. 12, 2011

The Wisconsin State Capitol had taken on an eerie quiet by late Friday. Gone were the throngs of protesters who had occupied its marble floors like it were a summer campground. The midnight honking of cars circling the white building had ceased. The chalk outlines around fake dead bodies etched with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's name remained in dismembered parts, not yet completely washed away by hoses.
