TWW is The Warped Woodturner who is a local artist living in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop 87). His mission is to use a wood lathe to make interesting but mostly useless objects from locally-sequestered carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but don't like that well. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well.

Baked cellafon recipe

MAMA (formerly known as Duped in Douglas) has kindly given us her recipe for baked cellafon.
  1. Since cellafons are bottom feeders you need wash them thoroughy.  If you cannot spare the time you can use your washing machine on gentle cycle.
  2. Next dry the cellafon with a paper towel
  3. Fill a baking container with sliced almonds and put cellafon on top
  4. Next season with lemon pepper of chile powder
  5. Heat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  6. Bake on the lower rack for 30 minutes
  7. Check to see if the skin is soft yet and if not return to the oven.
  8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving
  9. One cellafon serves two people

another one of the neighbors is at it

There is a news story in the Hayward paper about a man charged with shooting his neighbor’s house when the neighbors were in it. The Sawyer County district attorney is charging him with recklessly endangering safety for supposedly firing three shots from a .44 magnum handgun. He reportedly was upset the neighbors had built a house there. He also is charged with obstructing an officer by saying he was an Illinois state senator and people should call the White House in Washington, D.C. to confirm it. He pretended to be paralyzed and had to be lifted from the home in a stretcher. The irony of the story is he lives on Loon Lane over by Round Lake.

Your tax dollars at work

"It may not rank as the most compelling reason to curb greenhouse gases, but reducing our emissions might just save humanity from a pre-emptive alien attack, scientists claim." (the scientists are paid with your money if you pay taxes in the US)

Big Mac's causing global warming

quote: "The academics suggest that global weight loss would result in a drop in the production of the major greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide (CO(2))."

And Mrs. TWW's cinnamon fingers also contribute to global warming. (just baked today)

"Stone Lake man kept mother's corpse in home for years after her death

Officials found body after man's death

Washburn County Sheriff's Office Investigator Austin Parenteau has confirmed that Michael J. Egan, 67, now deceased, had kept the corpse of his mother, Elizabeth Egan, on the couch in his home long after her death. She is estimated to have died sometime in 2008, at an approximate age of 97. According to Sawyer County probate records, Michael and Elizabeth lived at N6183 Lake Road, Stone Lake.

Michael Egan himself died at the residence in early June, but his body wasn't found until approximately two weeks later when officials removed it from the floor of a bedroom."

More Teapartying Warped Warmongering Misinformation

"What Salby found though, was nothing like what was expected

The largest increases year-to-year occurred when the world warmed fastest due to El Nino conditions. The smallest increases correlated with volcanoes which pump dust up into the atmosphere and keep the world cooler for a while. In other words, temperature controls CO2 levels on a yearly time-scale, and according to Salby, man-made emissions have little effect.
The climate models assume that most of the rise in CO2 (from 280 ppmv in1780 to 392 ppmv today) was due to industrialization and fossil fuel use. But the globe has been warming during that period (in fact since the depths of the Little Ice Age around 1680), so warmer conditions could be the reason that CO2 has been rising.
Salby does not dispute that some of the rise in CO2 levels is due to man-made emissions, but found that temperature alone explains about 80% of the variation in CO2 levels.
The up and coming paper with all the graphs will be released in about six weeks. It has passed peer review, and sounds like it has been a long time coming. Salby says he sat on the results for six months wondering if there was any other interpretation he could arrive at, and then, when he invited scientists he trusted and admired to comment on the paper, they also sat on it for half a year. His speech created waves at the IUGG conference, and word is spreading."
