Blame the victim time again?

Comment: so someone tries to shoot the media-created poster boy for gun owners and it is his latest brush with the law? Anyone know what he just did wrong besides still being alive?

A sign of homophobia coming back to Hayward?

The owners of the first openly gay ice cream store in Hayward recently sold the store to the straight couple above.  We assume the new owners will continue to serve customers of all ice cream and sexual preferences so the fears of homophobia returning to Hayward  have probably been overstated.

Tony Robinson, who was African American, was killed by a white Madison police officer during an incident in early March.

So can a lynch mob be led by a prosecutor ?

She’ll never prove this beyond a reasonable doubt, and I’m not going to silently stand by and watch my brother officers, offered up as human sacrifices, thrown like red meat to an angry mob, just to appease this angry mob.” And that “she rushed this thing through.”

Another letter to the editor never to be sent in

Editor: 

Neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman shoots an unarmed teenager and gets away with murder. Police officer Wilson in Missouri does the same.  The Duke lacrosse players rape a woman and go scott-free. The frat boys at the University of Virginia do the same and again there is no justice. And now the police officer in Madison may walk after shooting an unarmed teen. This list could go on and on.  So what to do?  It's time to bring back that great American tradition where people join together and engage in do it yourself justice and update it for the 21st century. Let's call it the flash lynch mob and use social media to get the job done.  The last old-fashioned lynch mob in this area happened up in Duluth in 1920 where a crowd who did not even have Facebook got together and did justice by breaking into the jail and lynching three carnival workers.  It does not matter if the three had not committed a crime. What matters is the seriousness of the charge not the facts in these cases. So the next time you hear about an injustice it it time to think. How can we tap the outrage flowing in our veins? It is time to do something about it rather than just feel outraged. It is time to get justice done the modern way.
