HOW TO ORDER A BOWL
The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

World's oddest advertising sign

Use the link above to learn nobody with that name is a registered sex offender in WI.
UPDATE (Friday):
"
WASHBURN COUNTY – A Minong woman was convicted of sexual assault of a child Wednesday, May 13, at the Washburn County Courthouse.
Dawn M. Thomas, 29, pled no contest in March to second-degree sexual assault of a child and to child enticement with sexual contact, and was found guilty. According to the report, Thomas had forced a 14-year-old boy into intercourse and other sex acts multiple times on May 12, 2008, and offered him alcohol, while he was baby-sitting her child overnight. Later that week, his mother intercepted text messages from Thomas indicating the acts and telling him to keep them secret, the report said. She testified later in court that she had had suspicions upon his return, and that Thomas had said some inappropriate things in front of her son before that." source (as of today): http://www.wcregister.net/

TWW's * original article finally online
* note: at the time of the publication of this article TWW was know as TWWT so perhaps the artist formerly known as TWWT would be a more appropriate description

The great uniter of the American people at work
Taken from AP: Rutgers University political scientist Ross Baker says Obama uses such pointed language to create an us-against-them dynamic in which he aligns himself with average Americans and depicts his opponents as selfish powers working just for themselves. Obama's targets, Baker says, usually are unsympathetic and faceless corporations or hedge funds.
"If you use inflammatory, populist language," Baker said in an interview, "it's best to use it on organizations or interests that aren't terribly popular."

Another Santa Claus myth debunked
Last Saturday TWW got to visit the site of some of these tales. There was once a bridge atop a canyon with a rushing river where people dived falling at least 50 feet before plunging into the raging current. There were also tales of sheriff's visits complete with lights and sirens. But nature has taken its toll on the gorge and it is now flat. And the bridge shrunk as you can see below and the stream is a mere trickle now. And the Wild Turkey bottle is empty.

New slogan for the blog
Candidates:
- Expect less pay more
- Lower quality care given to more patients
- You get less care because Bush screwed it all up before I came along
- Let them eat cake flavored with Coumadin
- (you can do better so leave a comment)

Home for abused husbands

One of the relatives wanted TWW to find a home for abused husbands on the Internet. Above is the most inexpensive one he could find.

As seen on TV (well You Tube) so it must be true
This link is to testimony before the US Senate by an alleged right-wing global warming skeptic who may well be proved right in the long run.
This is an even better link to a presentation Spencer gave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II9jLTzPv30

Once again the enlightened Europeans make us look bad
British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said "I think it's important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here....Coming to this country is a privilege. If you can't live by the rules that we live by, the standards and the values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what's more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded." (she said this when they wouldn't let reactionary radio commentator Michael Savage into Britain).

Monday adventures
Thanks President Obama for not giving seniors a raise in Social Security in 2010
"Social Security Benefits Not Expected to Rise in ’10
“Most seniors have never been through a year in which there was no Social Security COLA,” said David M. Certner, legislative counsel at AARP, the lobby for older Americans. Beneficiaries have received automatic cost-of-living adjustments every year since 1975. The increase this year was 5.8 percent."
source: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/03/us/politics/03benefits.html?ref=global-homeTWW is sure glad he voted for Obama since he wants the government to stop giving money away to special interest groups. Next year after he starts getting a social security transfer payment each month he will change his mind.

For more life enrichment play in the dirt

This is the second garden. Playing in the dirt is even more enriching if your playmate has a John Deere tractor to bring over.

This is the start of the new road to the well so the welldriller can fix the well.

To keep the environmentalist relatives happy we unfolded the solar clothes drier so they think we are conserving energy.
