HOW TO ORDER A BOWL
The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Helping to save the planet
To help save the planet TWW filled his hot tub with dirt and will plant flowers in it. No more fossil fuels being burnt to heat the water. How many professed environmentalists would make such a sacrifice to help save the planet??

More gun violence victims?
" However, a much more interesting assault occurred that received no coverage: the Mayors Against Illegal Guns consider self-defense to be “gun violence.”
While mourning the names of “gun violence victims,” organizers read off the name “Tamerlan Tsarnaev,” one of the two brothers who committed the mass bombing at this year’s Boston Marathon. ..... They were fleeing when police chased them down, and engaged in a “gun battle” with police, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev was kill."
So now when the police shoot an alleged bad guy the guy is a victim of gun violence?

Liberals against a common sense gun control measure ?
Let's assume mental health professionals are mostly liberals. So why are they against a common sense gun control measure in Florida? It sounds like the NRA is even sympathetic to it.

"The legislation requires people who volunteer for mental health treatment to give up their gun rights. Mental health professionals want Gov. Rick Scott to veto the legislation."

The next IRS/Benghazi/NSA/Obama scandal coming?
"In my opinion, the day of reckoning has arrived. The modellers and the IPCC have willingly ignored the evidence for low climate sensitivity for many years, despite the fact that some of us have shown that simply confusing cause and effect when examining cloud and temperature variations can totally mislead you on cloud feedbacks (e.g. Spencer & Braswell, 2010). The discrepancy between models and observations is not a new issue…just one that is becoming more glaring over time.
It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out in the coming years. I frankly don’t see how the IPCC can keep claiming that the models are “not inconsistent with” the observations. Any sane person can see otherwise."

Question for the day
Does Michael Bloomberg secretly own stock in the firearm and ammunition companies. He is helping to make them richer.

Remember when we complained about 'them' not having to have the same...
health care the people do. Guess what. They do and they are pissed.
"Dozens of lawmakers and aides are so afraid that their health insurance premiums will skyrocket next year thanks to Obamacare that they are thinking about retiring early or just quitting.
The fear: Government-subsidized premiums will disappear at the end of the year under a provision in the health care law that nudges aides and lawmakers onto the government health care exchanges, which could make their benefits exorbitantly expensive."

Need a job? Try the CIA - they will hire anyone
"Snowden told The Guardian he lacked a high school diploma and served in the U.S. Army until he was discharged because of an injury, and later worked as a security guard with the NSA.
He later went to work for the CIA as an information technology employee and by 2007 was stationed in Geneva, Switzerland, where he had access to classified documents."
No degree? Worked as a security guard? Got hurt in the army? Wow what qualifications.

Time for a crackpot letter to the editor
Editor:
The US government Selective Service web site currently says: "ATTENTION Even though the Secretary of Defense has decided to allow women in combat jobs, the law has not been changed to include this. Consequently, only men are currently required to register by law with Selective Service during ages 18 thru 25. Women still do not register. (January 24, 2013)"
This is one of the last blatant examples of gender disrcimation in the law around. Do you think the womyn's groups will ever work to change it?

More news about the worst job in the world
" Circuit Judge Debra Nelson's ruling says attorneys in the case are to refer to jurors by number, not name, during jury selection, which begins Monday in Sanford. Writes Nelson: "This is to be done in order to protect the prospective jurors from harassment and pressure from the public at large." "source: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/trayvon-martin/os-george-zimmerman-trial-jurors-ruling-20130605,0,5478146.story
Note: the judge does not mention what happens to the jurors once they decide their verdict.

More trouble brewing thanks to TV?
"Jose Baez, lead defense attorney for Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of murder, said he doesn't believe the prosecution can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman's story isn't true.
"The state is going to have a hard time refuting the claim of self defense- that's where the case can easily be won by the defense," Baez said. "The state not only has to put forward their evidence, they have to exclude every reasonable hypothesis of innocence and do so beyond a reasonable doubt - I don't think they can." " source: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57587259-504083/george-zimmerman-trial-experts-say-self-defense-claim-could-be-tough-to-refute-in-trayvon-martin-killing/
Try convincing all of the people who believe what they see on TV of what was said above being the way our legal system works. Where is Rodney King asking why don't we all just get along? (He is deceased also we think).

Want jury duty?
There is now a new candidate for the worst job in the world. It is called being a juror on the George Zimmerman trial. So was it:
Here is a little tidbit you may not have heard:
"Wesley White, a lawyer and former co-worker of de la Rionda, testified Tuesday that the office's information technology director had found three photos plus some deleted text messages from Trayvon's cell phone and given them to de la Rionda.
- An innocent, happy go lucky (note racial stereotype here) youngster who was profiled (whatever that means) and gunned down by a wannabee cop turned neighborhood watch leader or
- Was is an overweight, out of shape office worker defending himself against an athletic teenager who was having trouble in school, sent to live with his father and who 'lost it' because of all the people bugging him and attacked one of his tormenters?

"Wesley White, a lawyer and former co-worker of de la Rionda, testified Tuesday that the office's information technology director had found three photos plus some deleted text messages from Trayvon's cell phone and given them to de la Rionda.
One photo was of a hand holding a gun and one was of drugs, White said.
O'Mara said those had not been handed over.
White said Tuesday afternoon that the IT director, Ben Kruidbos, was placed on administrative leave "about five minutes after I got off the stand."
It used to be warm in June. Has the climate changed?

Environmentalists protesting on Garbin Moraine
When TWW moved up here 10 years ago there was a big controversy about some company replacing a transmission line. The protesters thought solar and wind were some magic answer. That died down but now there was a protest on Gabrin Moraine Friday about a new underground power line.
Yesterday TWW was helping a guy from the electric coop plan the route of the underground power line through his property. They are replacing the existing poles since trees fall on them and turn off the power.
TWW was walking ahead of the coop guy and looking over his shoulder to talk and then looked where he was walking and noticed some orange/brown junk on the ground in his path about two steps ahead. A close look showed it was a fawn whose mother left him there as a protest just like the anti-gun and anti-abortion protesters use their kids. The protest did not work. TWW and the coop guy moved the route over a foot and it will miss the fawn. ('sorry. no photos available)
