HOW TO ORDER A BOWL
The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Another innovative reuse, recycle activity
At Garbin Moraine we strive to practice what we preach. Below is our latest concoction Chamber Pot Beans composting and cooking away in the solar cooker. No CO2 was released in this process. We make no such claims for what happens after the TWWs eat the beans if they turn out.

Great news for liberals
Since people with liberal political values always think people should pay more taxes, they now have a great opportunity to put their money where there mouth is. There is a government web site allowing people to donate money to their favorite government programs or help pay down the national debt. In the spirit of things and using Jack Benny as an example TWW is going to donate a dollar to President Obama just as Jack Benny sent President Kennedy a dollar. See:https://www.pay.gov/paygov/ to make your donation today.

Garden Pea Party
After killing off the first crop with Roundup (TM?) TWW decided to replant.
He put several test plots of peas surrounded with 1/4" screen to see if it could keep the mice and other evil creatures from eating the bottoms of the stalks off like last year.
There are also rows of unprotected peas to see if they make it.

Since the TWWs never watch TV
so TWW decided to get a new antenna. The new one points at Park Falls and gets three WI public TV stations. The old one now points at Dulute and gets Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS. There are now 15 options for TV viewing at Garbin Moraine but only one at a time.
The search is on
A few days back someone calling him/herself 'Girlie Goldfish' posted a comment on this blog. Who is he/she?
A Google search turned up this link: http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=476042
This link has to do with new moms and diapers. So who is the new mom amongst the senior set who reads this blog?

Custom Welding adds finishing touches to the new deck
Now that the hard part is done TWW hopes to paint the rails without messing anything up.
Note to 1st time viewers of this blog: If a search engine landed you here because you are looking for a welder, TWW recommends Paddy Steavenson's Custom Welding of Hayward, WI. (and that is about the only thing on this blog you can trust at face value.) They do good work.
With all the cynicism about Congress let's salute them when they do something right
"While most of Washington was focused on Tuesday's election results, the House was busy doing something else: Passing a resolution about beer.
House Resolution 1297, sponsored by Rep. Betsy Markey, supports "the goals and ideals of American Craft Beer Week."

Mrs. TWW's new deck finally painted
Question: Is it genetic or cultural? Whenever a woman gets new spaces she immediately wants the space filled with new furniture.
Stairs going north needs a new railing too.
Coming up to the house.
Going down to the lower level. The welding magician will come over this week to help with
fixing the rail TWW cut off and make a new railing for the other side of the stairs.
The TWWs need to figure out how to keep the assessor from seeing this picture so the
taxes do not go up too much.

A trip to the middle of nowhere
On Saturday TWW went to a bird banding demonstration in the middle of nowhere. The pictures below illustrate how bird banders capture, record information on a bird, band the bird and then release it back to the wild. The bird in this picture could not fly up side down so did not fly away until it was uprighted.

No picture available
Yesterday TWW went to a new clinic in Hayward and got a physical from two female nurses. Anyway, as part of the physical the nurse practicioner gave him a hospital gown, left the room and then came back with a witness (a second female nurse). When they came back TWW remembering family tradition made a flippant comment on always wanting to moon someone. One of the nurses panicked and ran over to the window since he was already unknowingly mooning the parking lot since the window was not covered ....unfortunately there is no picture available but maybe that is more fortunate than not.

"Hold fire, earn a medal

U.S. troops in Afghanistan could soon be awarded a medal for not doing something, a precedent-setting award that would be given for “courageous restraint” for holding fire to save civilian lives."

Course on wining
The Teaching Company (TWW has taken many courses from them since they do not have final tests) has a new course on wines. See details at: http://www.teach12.com/ttcx/coursedesclong2.aspx?cid=9123
Now if they ever have a course on beer then TWW will bite.
