A veteran (thank him for his service) owned and operated company existing only in TWW's imagination and in this website
HOW TO ORDER A BOWL
The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

'sorry for the lake of interesting material
We have been experiencing a lack of life enrichment experiences lately. The dipstick on the electric log splitter came unscrewed and fell into the log splitter and we had to wait for the company to send another one. That was not life enriching. We also have been cutting up logs so we can order more for splitting next spring for the 2009/2010 winter. Not much else exciting to report. Will try to get out on the lake with the camera this weekend when the relatives come up and we put the pontoon away for the season.
Now even CNN is telling the truth
A Harvard economist speaks "This bailout was a terrible idea. Here's why.
The current mess would never have occurred in the absence of ill-conceived federal policies. The federal government chartered Fannie Mae in 1938 and Freddie Mac in 1970; these two mortgage lending institutions are at the center of the crisis. The government implicitly promised these institutions that it would make good on their debts, so Fannie and Freddie took on huge amounts of excessive risk.
Worse, beginning in 1977 and even more in the 1990s and the early part of this century, Congress pushed mortgage lenders and Fannie/Freddie to expand subprime lending. The industry was happy to oblige, given the implicit promise of federal backing, and subprime lending soared.
This subprime lending was more than a minor relaxation of existing credit guidelines. This lending was a wholesale abandonment of reasonable lending practices in which borrowers with poor credit characteristics got mortgages they were ill-equipped to handle."

The first presidential debate
Two empty bowls are the perfect metaphor for the presidential debate held last night. To be fair TWW only watched the first 30 minutes before giving up. Neither candidate during that time tried to answer the questions asked. You can get more information from the video in the next post below than you could have gotten from the first debate. The only bad part of the video below is one section where the person who created it supports Paleface and Mathusala. The rest is pretty good.

The couch - part 1
After several years of sleeping on the couch since their wives did not have a kitchen at the cabin the brothers almost got it done this past weekend. There will be pictures later in the week showing the new kitchen.
This is a sneak preview of what it will look like when done. (doors will have to wait a while).
This is the current temporary (for the last four years) basement kitchen.

Ironic?
VP candidate Sarah Palin has a daughter who gets pregnant outside of wedlock. It must mean Palin is an unfit mother who preaches abstinence but cannot control her own children.
The liberals are outraged.
The other VP candidate Joe Biden has a son who joined the army and is going to Iraq to fight the immoral war. It must mean Biden is an unfit father who preaches against the war in Iraq but cannot control his children. Why aren't the liberals outraged?
