The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Polygamy is next then marrying your sister cannot be far behind

"Now it would seem to be impossible to believe anything else. With the prohibition against interracial marriage struck down, the prohibition against gay sex struck down and now the prohibition against gay marriage struck down, the prohibition against plural marriage cannot be far behind. To be sure, there are some problems that would have to be thought through or re-calibrated, such as community property laws, inheritance laws, custody laws, probate laws, tax laws and the like. But that's just a matter of tinkering with the details. The main principle -- the protection of "our most profound aspirations" (Kennedy) -- demands its extension to polygamy."

Will Mr. Bloomberg take our beer next? He already took our sodas.

"These findings have profound implications for crafting policy to avert future tragedies. In the wake of mass shootings, politicians from both sides of the aisle often call for including better mental health records in background checks. Though a worthwhile sentiment, the evidence suggests that these efforts would be better spent focusing on alcohol abuse instead."

TWW was right

In an earlier post TWW said "all live matter but some lives matter more than others".  This slogan would solve the problem the 'black lives matter' people have. See below:

"  "So, Why Should You Care? Black Americans are more than twice as likely as white Americans to be unarmed when killed during police encounters, according The Guardian’s recent analysis of public records and local news reports. ...

The counterargument that all lives matter has been misappropriated practically since Black Lives Matter first emerged as a Twitter hashtag following George Zimmerman’s acquital in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. In a New York Times column in January, the feminist philosopher Judith Butler said that people using the slogan “all lives matter” are misunderstanding the problem. She put it this way: “If we jump too quickly to the universal formulation ‘all lives matter,’ then we miss the fact that black people have not yet been included in the idea of ‘all lives.’ ” "

More problems with immigrants

The dogooders in the DNR brought the ancestors here as refugees and now the descendants are causing problems. Note how they trashed the purple flower.  And they have 8 kids too but they are currently hard to see. When will this end?

TWW may live long enough to see the coming ice age

A silent sun: In 2011 this image was captured showing an almost clear sun - which experts say could happen for almost a decade from 2030.

"The Earth could be headed for a 'mini ice age' researchers have warned.
A new study claims to have cracked predicting solar cycles - and says that between 2020 and 2030 solar cycles will cancel each other out.
This, they say, will lead to a phenomenon known as the 'Maunder minimum' - which has previously been known as a mini ice age when it hit between 1646 and 1715, even causing London's River Thames to freeze over. "

Hillary and now the Republicans may be in big trouble

" Honora Laszlo, a volunteer with the Arlington, Virginia chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, asked Sanders during the question-and-answer session of a policy forum to clarify his stance on gun reform, and to explain his vote in favor of a 2005 law that shields firearms manufacturers from liability if their products are used in the execution of a crime....Sanders defended his record on gun control, noting that he took “very, very difficult votes” in favor of the 1994 assault weapons ban and, in 2013, to close the gun show background check loophole.
“With all due respect, you also cast the vote to allow gun manufacturers to never be sued,” Laszlo interjected.
“Right I did, OK?” Sanders fired back, adding later, “Why would I have voted that way? Because if somebody has a gun and somebody steals that gun and they shoot somebody with it, do you really think it makes sense to blame the manufacturer of that weapon? If somebody sells you a baseball bat and somebody hits you over the head with it, you’re not going to sue the baseball bat manufacturer”.....Sanders, however, pinned the intractability of the gun control issue on a cultural divide between urban and rural America.
“I come from a state that has virtually no gun control and it turns out one of the safest states in the country.... And people in rural America have got to understand that in an urban area, guns mean something very, very different.”
“We will not succeed on this terribly important issue if we continue the cultural warfare between urban America and rural America, and I think I’m in a good place to bridge that gap,” Sanders said.  "

Or four more years of BO?

More white privilege

"Both the Confederate and the U.S. flags represent slavery, genocide and bloodshed. This country was built on the oppression of African people. White violence is as old as America itself. It is time white people to stand up and take responsibility for this history. Reparations for stolen black lives!” Nevel said, according to the group’s website."

Someone can register two cars so why not two spouses?

"Nathan Collier said he was inspired by the recent Supreme Courtdecision that made marriage equal. He said he was particularly struck by the words of dissenting Chief Justice John Roberts who claimed giving gay couples the right to marry, might inspire polygamy.
And so this week, Mr Collier and his two wives, Victoria and Christine, entered a courthouse in Billings, Montana, and sought an application to legalise the trio’s polygamous union,
“Right now we're waiting for an answer," Mr Collier told The Independent. “I have two wives because I love two women and I want my second wife to have the same legal rights and protection as my first.”  "

TWW thinks the problem started with the government getting in the business of issuing sex licenses back in the days when good girls didn't do it until they were married.  There is a difference between two or more adults signing a contract and the government trying to control sexual behavior. Just wait until the animal rights people get into the fray and try to make pets eligible to get married.

"Since government has been involved in marriage, they have done what they always do — taxed it, regulated it, and now redefined it. It is hard to argue that government’s involvement in marriage has made it better, a fact also not surprising to those who believe government does little right."
