The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Viewing bench where we sit and watch the trees grow when we get tired of watching the wood dry. The new trees are close to the viewing bench modeled after an Aldo Leopold bench so it mst be environmentally sensitive. Posted by Picasa

20 trees transplanted for better viewing. We could not watch them grow down in the valley in a transplant bed.  Posted by Picasa

Shirley's Way where it (the road) still exists on our land. The rest was on the neghbor's property so it is his road.  Posted by Picasa

The clostest we come to excitement up in the woods

On April 8th brother Bruce came up with his BIG truck and thanks to a trailer belonging to Bob D picked up a new pontoon for the cabin. The deliver went uneventfully to match our boring lifestyle up in the woods. Below are some pictures of the dull event. Using the new toy should prove to be more exciting.

The delivery crew talking to the benefactor who donated a pontoon to the cabin trust. They are talking about a contest to name the new boat. . Posted by Picasa

11" salad bowl made from red pine and covered with mineral oil and wax. (TWWT needs to find some big maple trees so the end result is smoother) Posted by Picasa
