The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Bad taste award for the day goes to Alien Holsters

Remembering Fidel

CastroInterroga
Fidel educating a farmer on Communism before executing him.
TWW used to listen to Channel 2 in the 1960s when the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the U of M (E.W Ziebarth - see: bio) did a nightly current events program called 'Background' if TWW remembers correctly.  Many times Ziebarth talked about 'the wall' where Castro did the people's will as part of building his workers paradise.  See more details and pictures at: Link to the Glorious Revolution.   Perhaps the people who hate Donnie the Demagogue have Fidel in mind when they express fears of Trump becoming the next Hitler.

Wishful thinking?

This quote is from The Hill website on the frayed relations between the press and Trump:

Trump’s transition team says it is committed to having a press pool, which allows for a small group of reporters to remain stationed near the president to document his movements. The pool was on hand for the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, and when George W. Bush was on the move on 9/11."

The search for common ground between the left and the right

Steve Bannon's appointment by Trump has drawn criticism from the anti-Trumpists since he said some bad things to his ex-wife about Jewish people twenty years ago so is forever banished from society as liberals would have it (along with all the people who voted for Donnie the Demagogue). But here is a way for liberals and conservatives to unite: hate Israel and hate America. Read on:

"What was seen in this country was a very dangerous development on both sides," Dershowitz explained in an interview on MSNBC. "We are seeing the Republicans move right and the Democrats move hard left. I have to tell you, the only thing the hard left and the hard right have in common, they hate Israel and America."

Maybe the new fascist Administration and Congress could follow the example from the book 1984 where Orwell came up with the idea of Hate Week. It could be in late Summer just like in 1984 just in time for the national political conventions. see:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_week

Why the US needs immigrants

"But for pure pathos crossing into the absurd, we turn (as usual) to the college campus. Consider:
  •  The University of Michigan offered its traumatized students coloring books and Play-Doh to calm them. (Are its students in college or kindergarten?)
  •  The University of Kansas reminded its stressed-out kids that therapy dogs, a regular campus feature, were available.
  •  Cornell University, an Ivy League school, held a campus-wide “cry-in,” with officials handing out tissues and hot chocolate.
  •  Tufts University offered its devastated students arts and crafts sessions. (OK, not kindergarten — more like summer camp.)
  •  At campuses from elite Yale to Connecticut to Iowa and beyond, professors canceled classes and/or exams — either because students asked or because instructors were too distraught to teach."

TWW's truth: What company in its right mind would hire kids like the ones going to the schools mentioned above? The companies could just as easily hire kids who made it through junior high school. That is why the US needs immigrants who did not go to American schools.

Test over since Fairness Doctrine won't come soon

Hillary lost and Donnie the Demagogue (DtD) rules (whatever that means).

If you want to understand how DtD could win an election here is an article that may help you. You will need to read the entire article to get it.

Quote: "Sherman, a thick-chested NASCAR racer, is working class through and through, as Hochschild recounts in her new book, “Strangers in their Own Land.” He is also an ardent Tea Party supporter who disdains big government and feels marginalized in a multi-cultural, secularized society. During one of their conversations, he proclaimed that Syrian refugees were potential ISIS members who should be locked up in Guantanamo Bay.
But Sherman’s biggest beef is taxes which he thinks go to “the wrong people – especially welfare beneficiaries who ‘lazed around days and partied at night,’ and government workers in cushy jobs,” Hochschild writes. “He knew liberal Democrats wanted him to care more about welfare recipients, but he didn’t want their PC rules telling him who to feel sorry for.” "
Hochshild's book is one TWW just started reading and is worth you time. He also read Vance's book mentioned in the article earlier and it is also quite good. There is a slogan about just ignoring them and they will go away. That is what the Democrats did wrong and DtD was the result.

Test of Hillary's Internet Fairness Doctrine continues

We interrupt this test of the coming Internet Fairness Doctrine when Hillary rules with an important message

Here is TWW's advice for the next President (probably Hillary):

Quote :
"Ever use the bathroom at someone's house only to be embarrassed by the "certain air" you've left behind?
Unfortunately, toilets don't come with built-in air fresheners. So when the bathroom is packing more pew than a church, don't despair. With an ounce of prevention and a pound of ingenuity, you may be able to leave the powder room daisy fresh after all."
