TWW is The Warped Woodturner who is a local artist living in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop 87). His mission is to use a wood lathe to make interesting but mostly useless objects from locally-sequestered carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but don't like that well. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well.

New York state police officer is hero for shooting unarmed white man running away?

"The sergeant who captured fugitive David Sweat is a 21-year-veteran who was hailed as a hero by New York's governor for opening fire after the inmate ran from him toward a tree line near the Canadian border."

So why is this police officer a hero for shooting a white gun running away and those who shoot unarmed black people running or maybe not even running away evil villains??  The escaped prisoner was running away and not an immediate threat to the officer. If the prisoner belong to a minority group would the officer still be a hero?

Wait.  TWW finally gets it.  All lives matter equally but some lives matter more equally than others.

So when do they stop selling this one too

Think of the number of nonwhite people the US military has killed and tortured over the years. And when the flags some down there will be empty poles symbolizing the patriarchy and they will have to come down too.

What to expect if you visit your doctor about belching or gas

"Americans trust their doctors, so the White House wants these medical professionals to be a mouthpiece for President Obama’s global warming agenda.

“We also need doctors, nurses and citizens, like all of you”President Obama said in a taped speech presented to medical professionals gathered at the White House, “to get to work to raise awareness and organize folks for real change.”

The Obama administration has been hard at work trying to draw a link between global warming and public health issues. The summit included the U.S. Surgeon General, top administration officials, and public health experts from around the country telling doctors, nurses and other conference goers how to talk about global warming with their patients."

Gun users, gun abusers and political views

Here is something to explore:

"Are conservatives more likely to stick to a diet than liberals? The answer might be yes.In a paper published Monday in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers say there is a link between political ideology and the ability to exert self-control.In a series of three studies with more than 300 participants, the authors found that people who identify as conservative perform better on tests of self-control than those who identify as liberal regardless of race, socioeconomic status and gender."

Now if we can have alcohol abuse why not gun abuse? The good guys with a gun and the bad guys with a gun have one thing in common: the GUN.  Alcohol abusers and alcohol users have one thing in common: alcohol. Food, sex, etc  users and abuser have one thing in common: food, sex etc.

Impulse control of the 'users' contrasts nicely with the lack of impulse control of the 'abusers' in the areas of eating, sex, drugs (of any sort), violence etc. The lack of impulse control means more social problems created by people with liberal values and more  jobs for people with liberal values.

Newly discovered reason for the 'liberals' to hate Reagan

"While researching presidential history for his latest political thriller, best-selling author Brad Meltzer learned an interesting fact about President Ronald Reagan: he almost always carried a .38 revolver when he left the White House.

While Metzler was on a tour of the Secret Service headquarters museum, agents pointed out the door from the limo that Reagan was using when John Hinckley attempted to assassinate him.  During the discussion of the assassination attempt, agents pointed out that Reagan regularly carried a .38 when he traveled, usually in his briefcase.  This included travel on Air Force One. "

Now was he carrying his weapon around after Alzheimer's set in? Then the anti-Reagan crowd can really get upset.

more crime news believe it or not (at least for 'liberals')

“We’ve been here for three years, (and) no incidents,” a man who works at D Avenue but did not want to identified told CBS2’s Diane Macedo. “And then stop-and-frisk has been repealed, so guys are walking around with guns again.”

Irony of the day (yesteday)

Hillary Clinton

"In her first major campaign speech, the Democratic presidential contender on Saturday tore into CEOs, hedge fund managers, Corporate America -- and the Republicans who support them."

"The Democratic presidential candidate earned $10.2 million in 2014, her first full calendar year after leaving the State Department. Of that, $4.6 million came from groups that also spent on lobbying Congress that year, according to data compiled by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics". (note: and that was just 2014)

Same stuff different decade

"Scientism and Progress.  Scientism is a religious belief in science—that science knows all, sees all, or is at least on its way to omniscience. Sometimes referred to as positivism, scientism comforts because of its promise of illuminating the darkness. Beyond doubt, it has eased many of the pains of life, although at what cost it is difficult to say; but this book is not a philosophic speculation on the unintended consequences of science. In this secular Western administrative age, Science and Progress have been woven together as a ceremonial mantle worn by elites, who, no longer able to justify themselves as earthly representatives of God, now must show themselves as enlightened, democratic representatives applying objective principles of science and scientific management to human problems. In actual practice, however, weakly supported, hypothetical conjectures are applied as absolutes. Of course, the trained scientist well knows the provisional nature of much scientific theory. Propagandists stretch beyond reason the qualified nuances of the scientists. The theory of global warming, whatever its true merits, increasingly appears to have been used as cartoon or pseudo science in this way. ......The current global warming scare exhibits many signs of “cooked” Science. The many television commercials employing it as a premise may be a giveaway. It’s too trendy. Elders may recall that forty years ago scientists were predicting a global winter as result of air pollution. Today it is global summer. Having little idea of where the truth lies in this matter, a healthy skepticism may be advisable regarding any science that advances administrative truth and careers as heavy-handedly as global warming scientism. Its direct implication is regulatory necessity: continued and more administration will save us, the universal modern message of propaganda."

TWW Finally Understands White Privelage

There are several examples of this kind of propaganda south of Garbin Moraine with the same verbiage but white little kids in them but TWW never has heard anybody say they were racist.

"Protesters in Atlanta called for the removal of a new ad campaign in their neighborhood last week, which they are calling racist."

Where is Emily Post when we need him/her?

"Now that some states have decided that residents can carry weapons even at the airport, Americans have watched a steady stream of primarily white males testing the boundaries of what is acceptable when it comes to guns in public places."

On the other hand: "“This is what lefties have done for decades, and it works,” writes University of Tennessee law professor Glenn Reynolds on his “Instapundit” blog.

Another example of what is real is not

"TAMPA (FOX 13) - A couple who had just eaten dinner at Shells off Fowler Avenue were walking to their truck parked nearby, when police say two teens confronted them.

"They literally sprinted up to the bushes to him, closing that distance very rapidly, pointing that firearm right at him," said Tampa Police Lt. Michael Stout."

TWW comment: This story sort of reminds one of how when you look at a man or woman nowadays you never really know if they are really a man or woman.

finally justice for a selfie taker

"The Islamic State's (ISIS) obsessive use of social media reportedly backfired after one militant's "selfie" taken outside a group headquarters' building triggered a devastating U.S. missile strike less than 24 hours later.

Air Force Gen. Hawk Carlisle, head of Air Combat Command, says airmen from an intelligence unit based in Florida found and recognized the post, setting off a mission that wiped out the building 22 hours later.."

more Facebook gossip

They are planning to shut USH 63 down from the South County line, Washburn, Barron County line all the way to County B East, through the City of Shell Lake beginning June 8 (weather dependent). There will be a signed detour route using STH 48 and USH 53. Local traffic will most likely be able to get around using Old Hwy 63 as the side road crossings should be open, no traffic will be allowed on USH 63. This is planned for 4 days, however, you just never know, the weather could have a lot to do with the time line.

Watch for the detour signs. If timing, dates etc change we will try and give you a heads up. You may wish to tell family and friends who may travel through Shell Lake.

Got privilege?

"Over the past four years, as PEG has cast its influence in St. Paul, the number of students living in the district but attending non-district schools, has increased from about 9,000 to 12,000, according to Joe Nathan, executive director of the Minneapolis-based Center for School Change.
Two-thirds of those students come from low income families, or families of color, so it’s not just a typical case of “white flight,” Nathan said.
“The most basic thing our schools must offer is the safety of the children,” Nathan told the Star Tribune. “A significant number of families are saying their children do not feel safe in the schools. They don’t feel safe even going to the bathroom.” "

Move over video games; now it's the pills

"In the new study,...The findings showed that tranquilizers increased the risk of committing a homicide .........the use of anti-inflammatory pain relievers was tied to an increase of more than 200 percent in the risk of committing homicide...."

can this possibly be true?

"Among the many painful ironies in the current racial turmoil is that communities scattered across the country were disrupted by riots and looting because of the demonstrable lie that Michael Brown was shot in the back by a white policeman in Missouri — but there was not nearly as much turmoil created by the demonstrable fact that a fleeing black man was shot dead by a white policeman in South Carolina. Totally ignored was the fact that a black policeman in Alabama fatally shot an unarmed white teenager, and was cleared of any charges, at about the same time that a white policeman was cleared of charges in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown."
