The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Environmentalists protesting on Garbin Moraine

When TWW moved up here 10 years ago there was a big controversy about some company replacing a transmission line.  The protesters  thought solar and wind were some magic answer. That died down but now there was a protest on Gabrin Moraine Friday about a new underground power line.

Yesterday TWW was helping a guy from the electric coop plan the route of the underground power line through his property.  They are replacing the existing poles since trees fall on them and turn off the power.

TWW was walking ahead of the coop guy and looking over his shoulder to talk and then looked where he was walking and noticed some orange/brown junk on the ground in his path about two steps ahead.  A close look showed it was a fawn whose mother left him there as a protest just like the anti-gun and anti-abortion protesters use their kids. The protest did not work.  TWW and the coop guy moved the route over a foot and it will miss the fawn. ('sorry. no photos available)
