The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

MN environmentalists have a way to put their money where their mouths are

People in MN who get their electrons from Xcel can get most of their electricity from their sacred wind machines for about $10 a month.  Do you hear about scads of environmentalists using this program?  Probably not. Complaining is free.

pasted from Xcel web page:

Overview

For only about $1 a month in Minnesota, you can help increase renewable energy and build a new energy future. You can purchase renewable energy through Windsource®, one of the nation’s largest voluntary renewable energy programs.
It’s within your power: the energy you purchase is generated in addition to our other renewable energy mandates. This means your purchase helps increase renewable energy production in Minnesota. We currently have 20 wind farms dedicated to Windsource, representing 64 wind turbines and nearly 90 megawatts of capacity.
Windsource subscriptions are available in 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) blocks for a small additional premium of $3.53 per block, less a credit for fuel costs. In 2010, the average fuel cost credit was $2.63, making the average net charge for Windsource $0.90 per block.
You can sign up for as little as one block or opt to have 100% of your electricity provided through Windsource (for around $10 per month for our average customer).

full disclosure: Garbin moraine gets about 40% of its electrons from wind power using a program in WI but TWW never claimed to be a protector of the sacred earth
