The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Finally done with life enrichment experience

The firewood is finally done and drying for next year. Instead of merely watching it dry we decided to instead do some statistics. There are 82 individual stacks in the pile each containing 64 pieces of wood cut to less than 3" as the greatest measurement in any dimension as required by the masonry stove for the greatest emission of CO2 (less CO2 means more pollution of the other kinds). Just remember this is good CO2 since it came from living trees and not the bad kind that comes from fossil fuels. Anyway, with 82 stacks of 64 pieces we have 5,248 pieces of firewood cut from 8 foot logs into 16" pieces and then split to the 3" or less standard mention earlier. Since oak has 24 MBTUs per cord and we have 82 piles divided by 18 piles per cord we have 4 and 10/18 cords. This means we have around 97,000,000 BTUs to keep us warm next year. The fire department says not to stack wood by buildings so if the garage burns down we will be able to roast alot of hot dogs.

When we need to relax after numbercrunching we still can watch the new hedge grow but first we have to find the shrubs since they are still so small.

hfec here....ahh, thats a mighty fine lookin wood pile. it actually reflects a fellers ethnicity inasmuch as different groups create different wood piles..if you know what i mean. you got 'em ranked and crossed and ranked and crossed. some folks just rank and never cross and others, scandenavians (i cant spell that word) create a wood pile which looks like a hay stack and the wood is more or less stacked on end. got the picture there tww? looks darn good anyway.
