The Warped Woodturner (TWW) is a local artist traveling his artist's journey in a suburb of Springbrook, WI (pop. 536). TWW's creative calling is to use a wood lathe to make useless objects from locally-sequestered organic carbon for tourists to bring back to the city to give to people they had to buy something for but do not like that much. His target market is the senior citizens since their vision is not as good as it used to be so cannot see the defects as well. His marketing jingle is: “Bowls as simple as their creator”.

Another letter to the blog editor

Editor:
.
Perhaps as a response to the Age of Global Warming several northern Wisconsin cities have become eco-municipalities and hope to reduce dependence upon fossil fuels. While people in these cities can now feel good about themselves they are missing two of the inconvenient truths of global warming. First , when people own multiple homes they use more fossil fuels. And second, tourists and vacation home owners drive millions of unnecessary miles each year to reach northern Wisconsin. The end result is many extra tons of climate-killing CO2 released into our fragile atmosphere. If Hayward ever decides to become an eco-municipality let’s hope the city puts a billboard at the south end of town saying "Think globally; vacation locally next time".

The next time you hear members of the Anthropogenic (man-made) Global Warming cult preaching how American needs to turn from the wantonness of their way of life, you might ask them how obeying their commandments will impact our local economy.
